Park Board Annexes Parcel, Gets Update on Workman Complex Equipment

Effingham Park Board members have approved the annexation of property into the park district.

The Central Grade School property was annexed into the district. The school property was recently annexed into the City of Effingham and the park district boundaries typically mirror the city limits.

The Board also was updated on the purchase of new equipment for the Workman Sports and Wellness Complex. Board members gave the nod to the purchase of seven pieces of equipment at a cost of about $40,000. Park District Director Jeff Althoff said the purchase is part of a replacement process over the next couple of years.
