Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation reminds that grant opportunities are now available to nonprofit organizations serving Effingham County.

The Siemer Milling Company Endowment awards grants to programs aimed at developing youth to become extraordinary leaders by investing in the leadership skills required for improving our communities.

Nonprofit Capacity Building Micro-Grants are strategic investments targeted at improving the management, board participation, governance, fundraising and leadership of the applicant organization. Micro-grants will provide up to $1,500 in support. Awards will be announced by the end of November 2018, but grant funding will not be distributed until January 2019. All grant activities must take place during 2019.

The deadline to apply for each grant is 11:59 p.m. on Monday, October 15.

The Community Foundation is also accepting letters of intent for its Effingham County CommunityWorks Endowment. Effingham County CommunityWorks is dedicated to grant-making activities in Effingham County that focus on workforce development, early childhood education and child care, and land use and protection. Letters of intent for the Effingham County CommunityWorks Endowment are accepted all year. Funding decisions are made quarterly.
