The first distribution of 2017, payable in 2018, Effingham County real estate tax revenue was made last week by direct deposit.

Effingham County Treasurer Mary Behl said the distribution totaled $29,866,823.70. To date, 57.7% of the total amount of taxes due has been distributed.

A reminder that the second installment of property tax payments is due Friday, October 19. Taxes may be paid at any financial institution in the county, mailed (and a postmark on the due date is acceptable), paid on-line, or at the County Treasurer's office on the second floor of the Effingham County Office Building. Please take along your bill when making an in-person payment.
