Cowden-Herrick school board members acted on a number of personnel matters at this month's meeting.

The Board heard from Jarrett Sarver, who expressed an interest in being a high school cross country volunteer coach so the Board approved him for the post.

The Board also agreed to move Devin Friesland from custodian and custodian/maintenance pay; hired Amber Wakeland as a junior high cheerleading sponsor; accepted a two-year irrevocable notice of retirement from Pamela Siddens; approved a maternity leave request from Cassandra Spangler; and approved a personal day request from Angela Jefferies in November.

Board members were updated by Superintendent Seth Schuler on fiber optic lines that are still waiting on Federal approval, with Schuler stating that the Internet speed has been updated in all Cowden-Herrick buildings. The Board approved the budget for the coming fiscal year, and authorized Schuler to begin work on the tentative tax levy for the coming fiscal year.

Cowden-Herrick board members also approved the expulsion of a district student for the remainder of the current school year.
