Niemann, Mahon in Washington for White House Meeting

Effingham County Board Chairman Jim Niemann and Effingham County Sheriff David Mahon are in Washington, DC.

Niemann and Mahon are there for a meeting with White House officials under the auspices of the United Council of Counties of Illinois. The White House requested topics for discussion from UCCI. Niemann asked for information on expanding ag markets, an expansion of the central Illinois transportation corridor, and Medicare coverage of in-home emergencies.

UCCI underwrote the cost of the trip, which included a reception and meeting on Wednesday evening.
