The Effingham Unit 40 Board of Education Monday approved some personnel shifts concerning cooks.

Jamie Irwin was hired as a three-hour cook at the high school Two other cooks were transferred to positions at the high school; Marlene Ruholl as a five-hour cook and Janice Dougherty as a four-hour cook.

The Board also granted a Family and Medical Leave Act leave for Ed Donovan.

The Board discussed concerns that principals, assistant principals and Central Office personnel are holding group meetings. The concern is that the meetings take all of the leadership out of their buildings.

Superintendent Mark Doan said the meetings have been taking place since Dr. Don Roberts served as superintendent in Unit 40, but said he will report back on the matter.

The Board also voted to approve a separation agreement with a support staff employee. Part of the agreement is that the individual's name would not be released as part of the motion.

Board members Jeff Michael and Kathleen Smith were not present for the meeting.
