Elderly Driver Hits Several Parked Vehicles During Sunday Crash

An elderly man experiencing a medical condition struck several parked vehicles in a downtown parking lot Sunday.

Effingham City Police Chief Jeff Fuesting said the man was traveling in the Martin's IGA parking lot when he experienced the medical condition. The man's car traveled into a parking lot where several IGA employees were parked and struck five parked unoccupied vehicles.

The incident occurred at 2:36pm Sunday. 

The driver was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
