A car and two semis collided Thursday morning on I-70 Eastbound near Altamont.

State police say the crash happened at 4:59am one mile east of Altamont. Vehicles involved were a car driven by 28-year-old Abena Osei of St. Louis and two semis driven by 59-year-old William McFarland of Indianapolis and by 48-year-old Stephen Miller of Greenwood, Indiana.

Police report the car driven by Osei and the semi driven by McFarland were both westbound. The car driven by Osei struck the rear of the McFarland rig. The collision caused Osei to lose control of the car, which crossed through the median and continued onto the eastbound lanes. The car, skidding backwards, then struck the front of Miller's rig

Osei was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. State police issued citations for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash, and driving while his license is suspended.
