Altamont Woman Injured in Crash on Interstate

An Altamont woman was injured in a crash on the interstate in Effingham Wednesday evening.

27-year-old Kaylyn Putnam was the driver of a SUV traveling between the Route 45 and Keller Drive interchanges at 6:55pm when the crash occurred. State police report Putnam's vehicle rear-ended a semi driven by 46-year-old Diablos Stewart of Park Forest. The impact blocked traffic in that area for more than an hour.

Putnam was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment of what authorities termed "minor injuries." Putnam was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
