The Effingham Classroom Teachers Association ratified the tentative agreement withEffingham CUSD #40 on Wednesday.  The four year agreement runs from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2021.  This agreement includes an increase in the monthly insurance contribution by the District as well as a 3% salary increase for the 2017-2018 school year.

In addition, a new salary schedule was negotiated for the remainder of the contract.  The ECTA and Unit 40 also agreed to protect teacher’s rights regarding evaluations, maternity and paternity leave, in addition to step and educational movement on the new salary schedule; and agreed to keep the Early Retirement Incentive in place while adjusting language to reflect the changes the Illinois Legislature and Governor Rauner enacted on June 4, 2018.

It is expected that The Unit 40 School Board will vote on the agreement at the next school board meeting on Monday, August 20.
