Three people have been arrested on drug charges following execution of a search warrant in Effingham.

Effingham police officers and detectives executed the search warrant just after 8am Wednesday at a residence in Four Seasons Mobile Home Park, based upon an investigation into the delivery of methamphetamine.

During the initial search, 28-year-old Adrian E. Mitchell of St. Elmo was located inside the residence and taken into custody on two outstanding warrants.

The search of the residence yielded over 30 grams of methamphetamine as well as heroin, multiple items of drug paraphernalia and an undetermined among of currency. Two suspects, 51-year-old Dannie B. Foster of Effingham and 33-year-old Jeremy Westpfahl of Altamont, were not in the residence at the time the search commenced, but were later taken into custody in Altamont with assistance from Effingham County Sheriff's Department and the Altamont Police Department.

Foster and Westpfahl made their initial appearance in court Friday morning and formal charges were brought by Effingham County State's Attorney Bryan Kibler. Foster is charged with manufacture or delivery of methamphetamine more than 15 grams, but not more than 100 grams, which is a Class X felony, and possession of a controlled substance, that being heroin, a Class 1 felony. Foster's bond was set at $1 million. Westpfahl is charged with possession of methamphetamine 15 grams or greater, a Class 1 felony. His bond was set at $75,000. Foster's first appearance with counsel is set for July 25. Westpfahl's first appearance with counsel is set for July 23.
