North Clay school board members discussed the HVAC system at the high school and concessions at this week's meeting.

The Board heard that progress is being made on the HVAC system in the high school gym. They also heard from Athletic Director Brian Deadmond regarding a request from Diona Griffy to be approved to handle school baseball concessions.

The Board directed Deadmond to once again ask all of the school-related clubs and organizations whether they are interested and, if not, allow Griffy to handle concessions.

It was also noted Arnita Fender coordinated with the district's LifeTouch representative to have the team photos in the hallway outside of the gym reformatted and sized. Larry Milner and Kris Jennings have placed the photos back on the wall. Thanks were given anyone who helped redesign the championship photos in the high school athletic hallway.

In personnel moves, the North Clay board accepted the resignation of Vicky Hagen as teacher, retroactive to the end of the past school year; hired Kimberly Briggs as Special Education Coordinator for the coming school year; hired Kim Teague as Guided Learning teacher for the coming school year; granted the Administration authority to hire a paraprofessional.

The Board also hired Kim Prather as grade school secretary retroactive to July 9; accepted the resignation of Janessa Dawkins as junior high head volleyball coach and continue as a volunteer assistant; accepted the resignation of Mayana Blair as paraprofessional; and hired Jody Westendorf as a full-time bus driver as of the start of the school year.

The Board also announced a special meeting for Monday, August 6 at 6pm to discuss personnel.
