Shobonier Man One of Three Injured in Early Morning Crash

 A Shobonier man was one of three people injured when the semi he was driving rear-ended a truck early Friday morning.

The crash happened on Interstate 64 in Washington County at 2:26am.

State police report a truck driven by 34-year-old Suliemon Mellette of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania slowed and was rear-ended by the semi driven by 61-year-old Charles Riley of Shobonier.

Both drivers were injured, as was Mellette's passenger, 40-year-old Gambia Lowe of Fayetteville, North Carolina. All three of those injured were taken to Washington County Hospital in Nashville, IL for treatment.

Riley was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
