Local Urologist Featured on Online Program

HSHS Medical Group’s newest “Health Today” episode features David Bitzer, MD, a board certified urologist at HSHS Medical Group Urology in Effingham, IL. Dr. Bitzer treats all urologic conditions in both male and female patients, addressing conditions that include incontinence, overactive bladder, cancers of the urinary tract and male genital system, impotence and stones.

“We treat from children and newborns up all the way up to geriatrics,” said Dr. Bitzer. “We deliver Patient-First Care by being attentive to the patients’ needs. This starts by carefully listening to what they are telling me what their problem is and assuring them that I am here to help.”

Dr. Bitzer earned his medical degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, IL. He completed urology and general surgery residencies at Southern Illinois University Affiliated Hospitals in Springfield, IL. Dr. Bitzer is board certified in urology and is a member of the Illinois State Medical Society and the American Urologic Association.

“I am pleased to bring 26 years of experience to the communities of Effingham, Greenville and Litchfield. I have a home in Vandalia so I am familiar with the area. My goals for my patients are to address their urologic problems to help improve their quality of life, and educate them to help them co-manage their conditions.”
