Fayette County board members Tuesday voted 10-0 in support of a resolution declaring the county a sanctuary for the lives of unborn human beings.

The action follows passage of such a measure by the Effingham County Board last month. The resolution indicates that if a matter arises involving life and death matters of the unborn, the Board will choose life.

Three citizens spoke in support of the referendum, while a letter was read from one person not present opposing the measure.
