Two Effingham teenagers were injured early Thursday morning in a crash in Jackson Township.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a car driven by 17-year-old Jaxon Kincaid of Effingham was headed south on the Funkhouser Road, just south of Funkhouser at 1:50am, when Kincaid swerved to miss hitting a deer and lost control of the vehicle. The car ran off the left side of the roadway and entered a ditch. The car then overturned and came to rest in a bean field.

Kincaid and his passenger, 17-year-old Austin Jacob of Effingham, were both injured and were taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

No citations were issued.
