Car and Semi Collide East of Greenup

A car and semi were involved in a crash early Friday morning in Cumberland County.

The crash happened at 4:32am on I-70 Eastbound, about three miles east of Greenup.

State police report the car, driven by 30-year-old Abdullahi Noor of Kansas City, Missouri, passed the semi, but failed to safely clear the semi before moving back into the driving lane. Noor's car struck the front brush guard of the semi, driven by 51-year-old Cody Fischer of Watertown, South Dakota. Noor's car then spun off the roadway to the right and overturned into a ditch. Noor exited the vehicle on his own, but was taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital for treatment. Fischer was not injured.

Noor was cited for improper passing on the left.
