Two suspects are still being sought in connection with an armed robbery at the Effingham Burger King restaurant on North Keller Drive Thursday night.

Police say they received a 911 call at 10:21pm from a Burger King employee who advised that the restaurant had just been robbed by two suspects, one of whom displayed a handgun. The restaurant's general manager, Brandon Queen, told us the suspects told those in the restaurant to lay down on the floor until they made their escape. No one was injured during the incident, and no shots were fired.

The suspects are described as black males, each 5' 5" to 5' 9" and each with a skinny or slender build. Both were wearing black zip-up hooded sweatshirts and black shoes. One suspect wore blue and white acid-washed jeans, while the other was wearing black pants. The suspects took what police reported was an "undetermined amount of money".

The suspects were observed on video surveiilance leaving the restaurant at approximately 10:18pm in a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Dodge Durango in an unknown direction of travel.

Police and Queen both said a similar incident occurred earlier Thursday night at a restaurant in Greenville. Queen said photos have been sent from Effingham to Greenville and authorities believe the Effingham suspects might also have committed the Greenville robbery.
