The rainy weather Tuesday night helped cause a crash in the south part of the county.

The crash happened at 9:47pm on Illinois Route 37, north of Mason.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a car driven by 26-year-old Cayla Jolly of Mason hydroplaned on water on the highway. Jolly lost control of the car, which ran off the right side of the highway, struck the ditch and overturned. The car came to rest on its side.

Jolly was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

No citations were issued.
