The City of Effingham would like to congratulate Michelle Wilkins on being awarded Employee of the Year as a part of the City’s Employee Recognition Program. Three other employees were nominated for the award: Amy Beckman, Jayne Miller and Jodi Thoele.

The Employee of the Year Award recognizes an employee who earned Employee of the Quarter for demonstrating either distinguished or extraordinary service during the fiscal quarter or other accomplishments that typically go unnoticed, but are worthy of recognition.

Wilkins was awarded Employee of the Year for being instrumental in researching and preparing the Building Official’s Office to update the existing 1993 Building Codes over this past year. She has also worked hard to streamline all forms and other paperwork, making the office itself more efficient. She has constantly gone above and beyond her workload to make sure construction projects stay on schedule. Wilkins has the ability to work through any issues or problems encountered with these projects. She works well with other departments and is a valuable and deserving employee.

The City appreciates your continued participation in the Employee Recognition Program. If you notice a City employee going above and beyond to serve you, please let them know by calling City Hall at 217-342-5300, emailing jkemper@effinghamil.com or by using the Effingham Connection App!
