The Effingham Classroom Teachers Association members could be seen Tuesday morning in front of the Effigham Board of Education Office at 2803 S. Banker Street in order to create awareness and show support for the negotiating team who resumed discussions with board members at 10:00am over a new contract for teachers in the district.

ECTA members held signs and waved as people drove past from 9:30-10:30am. They handed out sheets with "talking points" and offered donuts to people who stopped.

More than 100 people gathered in front of the board office as educators were joined by retired teachers from the Effingham School District as well as teachers from the Teutoplis School District who came to show support for the ECTA.

Neogotiations have been ongoing between the Effingham Unit #40 School Board and the ECTA since last June.
