Crash w/Injuries on Ford Avenue Monday

City police investigated a crash with injuries Monday.

The crash happened at 1600 Ford Avenue at 4:06pm. Police say a vehicle driven by 26-year-old Kenneth Cannon of Olney pulled into the path of, and was struck by, a vehicle driven by 52-year-old Corbin Matney of Effingham.

Matney and a passenger in Matney's vehicle, 47-year-old Dawnette Rhodes of Effingham, were both injured and were taken by ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Cannon was cited for failure to yield.

Police also released information on a crash last Wednesday at 1:37pm at Willow and Pembroke.

A vehicle driven by 35-year-old Joshua Tohtz of St. Charles, Missouri, attempted to avoid a rear-end collision and pulled into the path of, and was struck by, a vehicle driven by 28-year-old Heather Demma of Willow Hill.

A passenger in Demma's vehicle, 54-year-old Laura Jayne of Willow Hill, was injured and was transported by ambulance to St. Anthony's. 

Tohtz was cited for improper lane usage.
