Effingham Woman Injured in Crash

An Effingham woman was injured in a crash late Friday night outside the city.
36-year-old Elizabeth Wiedman was a passenger in a car driven by 36-year-old David Wiedman of Effingham. State police say the car was traveling on the interstate on Effingham's north side near the US 45 interchange at 11:28pm when David Wiedman lost control of the vehicle. The car ran off the roadway and struck a light pole.
Elizabeth Wiedman was taken to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham for treatment.
David Wiedman was ticketed for no valid insurance.
