A car and motorcycle collided early Sunday morning in Cumberland County.

State police say the crash occurred just after 3am on US Route 40 at Cumberland County Road 2100 East.

Police report both the car driven by 18-year-old Courtney Davis of Greenup and the motorcycle operated by 58-year-old Roger East of Charleston were traveling westbound. As East attempted to pass Davis, the Davis vehicle began a turn off the highway onto 2100 East, and the cycle struck the driver's side door of the Davis vehicle.

Roger East was injured and was taken to Carle Hospital in Urbana.

East was cited for improper overtaking on the left and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
