Van Scyoc Hired as South Central Principal

James Van Scyoc has been hired as principal of South Central High School in Farina.

Van Scyoc, who graduated from South Central, just finished his 17th year in education. He taught and coached in the Dieterich district for many years and is a member of the Dieterich High School Hall of Fame. His 215 wins as basketball coach is the most in Dieterich history. He returned home to South Central in 2016 and has been working as a teacher, athletic director and varsity boys basketball coach.

Van Scyoc will succeed Steve Phillips, who is taking over as superintendent of the Mulberry Grove School District.
