The Effingham City Zoning Board of Appeals has approved a variance regarding signage and setbacks. The changes will allow the relocation of the John Boos Factory Outlet store from its current East Fayette Avenue location to the former Prime Sole building at Keller Drive and Avenue of Mid America.

Under the plan, John Boos will lease much of the building at 1703 Avenue of Mid America for the outlet store, while building owner Mike Borries will retain two suites he can lease to others. The Nike swoosh sign will come down, to be replaced by signage for the outlet store.

There were no objections to the project.

Another variance was granted to Mike and Kathy Nolan for their home at 400 West Evergreen Avenue. The Nolans want to place a larger than normally allowed accessory building by their home.

Again, there were no objections voiced to the proposal.
