Two vehicles collided at the intersection of US Route 40 and Illinois Route 128 west of Altamont Saturday afternoon.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports the vehicles involved were driven by 18-year-old Tristan Putt of Pana and 65-year-old Judy Kingston of St. Elmo. Deputies report Putt was stopped at the stop sign on the south side of Route 40, then pulled into the intersection. Kingston was unable to stop in time and struck Putt's vehicle on the driver's side.

Kingston was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Putt was cited for failure to yield, and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
