The Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities (CEO) class is celebrating its 10th anniversary.

While the program is expanding to more and more states, it had its start in Effingham County, making Tuesday evening's CEO Trade Show more meaningful.

37 booths were on display at the Thelma Keller Convention Center. Several attending complimented the layout, which seemed more open and easier to navigate. The class members this year followed the lead of previous students and made their booths welcoming and attractive.

The event, though, is the opportunity for students to show what they've learned as far as interaction with adults and how to promote the benefits of their products. They are also willing to discuss the semester-long process of selecting their product, producing it or acquiring it, and merchandising it.

At the close of the evening, awards were presented. Avery Elder and Truman Rhodes were recognized as Entrepreneurs of the Year. They were chosen by their classmates. Patrick Tkachuk received the John Schultz Award
