(HABITAT FOR HUMANITY FUTURE HOMEOWNER RACHEL KOESTER WITH HER SON, NOLEN)

Effingham County Habitat for Humanity recently kicked off its 14th home build.

The first workday for volunteers will be this Saturday, April 28, starting at 8am. The goal for the day is to set floor joists and install the subfloor.

Lunch will be provided for all volunteers. Construction knowledge is helpful, but not required. Organizers say they are always looking for volunteers, so if you would like to get involved, need directions to the build site near Lake Sara, or have any questions, phone Beth Funneman at 217-663-7935.

The recipient is Rachel Koester who will live in the home with her son, Nolen.
