The Effingham Convention and Visitors Bureau is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Sculpture on the Avenues program this year.

To commemorate the occasion, the public is being invited to attend the unveiling of a 20th anniversary sculpture, created by Cobden artist and long-time participant in the program Thomas Horn. The unveiling will take place on opening night of this year's Artisan Fair, Friday, May 4 at 6pm.

The 13th Artisan Fair will be kicked off by the unveiling in a short ceremony downtown at Jefferson and 3rd. Sculpture on the Avenues founder and former mayor Bob Utz will speak, as well as current Mayor Jeff Bloemker and City Tourism Director Jodi Thoele.

Those attending will also be invited to the Suzette Brumleve Memorial Effingham Public Library to see an indoor exhibition called "Circle of Life", which will be on display in the Richard and Diane Siemer Family Vault for the month of May. The library is open through the week from 9am to 6pm.

A brand new Culture Guide will be available at the Effingham Visitor Center, City Hall, Effingham Public Library and the Artisan Fair information table that evening
