The Effingham County Coroner's Office has investigated two recent deaths.

Coroner's officials responded to a home near Lake Sara Friday at the request of the Effingham County Sheriff's Office.

73-year-old Richard Vail was found dead in his residence by a family member.  An autopsy was conducted Saturday and the preliminary report indicated Mr. Vail died of natural causes.

Concerning another death, early Saturday morning, 37-year-old Toby R. Bushue of Edgewood was found unresponsive at a residence in Farina.  Bushue was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham where he was pronounced dead.  An autopsy was performed later Saturday.  Autopsy results are pending and an investigation by the Coroner's Office and the Illinois State Police is also pending.
