The 2018 National Day of Prayer Breakfast in Effingham is set for Wednesday, May 2.

The Day of Prayer observance will begin at 7:30am at the Thelma Keller Convention Center. Pinnacle Forum is again sponsoring the event.

The breakfast is free and everyone is invited, however, all attending will need a ticket. The tickets are available at the studios of 979XFM and KJ Country 102.3 at Fayette and Willow, at Tom Henderson State Farm Insurance at 3rd and Section in downtown Effingham, and at the Convention Center. The tickets help the event sponsors know how many meals to prepare.

The event will include music led by Rachelle Cekander, Pastor Tony Munoz and others.

This year's faith-based message will be presented by local surgeon Dr. Ruben Boyajian, known for his work in medicine but also in the arts.

A love offering will be taken with all monies collected going to Effingham Child Development Center.
