Dieterich village board members reviewed a series of infrastructure projects at this month's meeting.

The Board decided to place an entrance monument for the new residential subdivision known as Hartke Subdivision. It was also decided to do a dry hydrant installation on the west end of the Liberty Park pond. Now that the Village has access to the pond via an extension of Liberty Drive to Section Street, such a project works since the fire department will have access to the pond. It's a "dry" hydrant since it will not be connected to the village water supply, but would instead allow firefighters to pump water from the pond in case of an emergency.

The Board also awarded a bid for asphalt work on Park Street to low bidder Effingham Asphalt, and agreed to hold a village cleanup day. The day will be Saturday, June 2 from 7am until the two dumpsters are full. The event will be limited to village residents with a water bill required as proof. Residents will be limited to one truck or trailerload per residence.

Dieterich board members finalized a water supply agreement with EJ Water Corporation, and approved a revision of the village's comprehensive land use plan. It was also voted to approve a service order quote for Midwest Aerial Survey to provide a digital map of Dieterich Cemetery. The business is a start-up company located in the incubator building in Dieterich.
