Dieterich school board members have agreed to temporary use of the school cafeteria by a local church congregation.

Jeff White, a member of Christ's Church, which now has a congregation in Dieterich, told the Board the church has outgrown its current rented facility. The Board agreed to allow temporary use of the cafeteria to the church on Saturday evenings for their weekly services. Both parties will meet again in July to evlauate the arrangement and discuss any future facility requests.

Also Monday, the Dieterich board approved the fee schedule for next school year; reviewed the latest Board policy updates and agreed to play the document on public display until the Board's May meeting; renewed membership in the IESA; and approved two overnight trips for the high school boys basketball program during the summer.

In personnel moves, the Dieterich board accepted resignations from Whitney Lidy as an aide and from Denise Snow as co-director of the district's After School Program; hired Lindsey Kinkelaar as business teacher and technology integration specialist, hired Dina Jackson as an elementary teacher, and Katie Hagan and Charity Dasenbrock as aides. The Board also reassigned 2nd grade teacher Gina Koester to 4th grade for next school year.

Dieterich Superintendent Cary Jackson reported on the WePay credit card and online payment service. The service would work directly with the Teacher Ease, the current student data management system to allow students and parents to pay fees with a credit card or online. Jackson also shared about the Evidence-Based Funding Model. He said the Tier Funding for the state's adequacy-based funding model is finally vouchered and should start being distributed this month. Dieterich Unit 30 is to receive $176,649.51 in tier funding.
