Community Area Service Providers met on Tuesday.  21 attendees from various nonprofits and service organizations throughout East Central Illinois shared updates during this professional networking opportunity held at the U of I Extension Office in Effingham.

Susan Wilson, Literacy Coordinator for CEFS and President of CASP, opened the meeting and then led the program as well.

Following the spring theme of baseball, attendees learned that even the best baseball players only get a hit an average of three out of ten times, and when it comes to home runs, the ultimate goal, Barry Bonds has the record of with only 13% of his at bats leading to home runs.

Using this analogy, Wilson encouraged attending nonprofits to realize that even if they only affect one person or one family – they are successful.

The May meeting of CASP is set for Noon on Tuesday, May 1 with guest organization, University of Illinois Extension.
