The Effingham City Zoning Board of Appeals has granted one request for a variance regarding a fence, but denied the other request.

The Board granted a request from Jeff and Erin McDevitt for a variance for their home at 101 Santa Maria. The McDevitts want to build a six-foot-tall fence on their property at the corner of Santa Maria and North 4th Street. The request was approved unanimously.

The request that was denied was from Michelle Beck for property at 2409 North Raney Street. Beck requested a variance that would have allowed a 10-foot-tall fence. The request was denied unanimously.
