City to Begin Flushing Hydrants Monday

The City of Effingham Public Works Department will be flushing fire hydrants starting Monday, April 2.

The Water Division crews will begin flushing on the north end of the City and work south toward Jefferson Avenue.

Water may be discolored due to the flushing of fire hydrants. Please check water before doing any laundry. Also, please flush your faucet until you see no discoloration or sedimentation.

Weather permitting, the City will begin flushing fire hydrants on the south side of the City (i.e., south of Jefferson Av.) on Monday, April 9.

The City will make another notification before starting to flush south of Jefferson Avenue.
