A rural Dieterich man has been indicted on a count of insurance fraud exceeding $100,000.

The charge facing 53-year-old Daniel Bushur stems from a fire at his house early in 2017. Effingham County State's Attorney Bryan Kibler said Bushur is accused of claiming losses of more than $100,000 in personal property as a result of the fire. Kibler said the charge alleges that investigators located many of the items on Bushur's property that he had claimed were lost in the fire.

Bushur has posted $2,500 bond. He is next due in court on April 18.
