Olney resident Glen Ramey has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

Ramey pleaded guilty in January in connection with harm done eight-year-old Sabrina Stauffenberg. The girl was found dead the night before Thanksgiving in 2016 outside a commercial building on the south side of Olney. A count of first degree murder was dismissed as part of Ramey's guilty plea to the other count.

Ramey had gone through a jury trial in Efingham County in 2017 where he was judged fit to stand trial.

Statements were read from members of the Stauffenberg family, and Ramey spoke on his own behalf.

The 54-year-old Ramey will have to serve at least 85% of the 60-year sentence. Should he ever be released, Ramey would be on mandatory supervised release for from three years to life.

The 60-year sentence imposed by Judge Larry Dunn was the maximum possible.
