Two arrests resulted from a significant drug bust in Mattoon.

The East Central Illinois Drug Task Force, along with the Mattoon Police Department and the Coles County Crisis Response Team, arrested 29-year-old Daniel Cook and 29-year-old Crystal Cobb after serving a search warrant on their residence in the 1400 block of Wabash Avenue in Mattoon. The arrests occurred as the search warrant was served at 7:30pm Friday.

Both subjects were arrested on counts of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, armed violence, drug trafficking, defacing the ID of a firearm, and possession of a firearm without a FOID.

The charges allege that during the search, police located almost three-quarters of a pound of methamphetamine (Ice), along with digital scales, drug ledgers, and packaging materials, as well as two handguns, one with a defaced serial number, all inside the couple's residence. The charge also alleges the pair have been importing up to a pound of methamphetamine for distribution every month for the past year.

Cobb and Cook were taken to Coles County Jail.
