The Neoga school board took action on some honorable dismissals of personnel at this month's meeting.

The Board approved the honorable dismissal of Mary Sue Cardinal as a teacher, approved the non-reemployment of Susan Banyai as a fulltime, non-tenured teacher not in her last year of probationary service, and honorably dismissed and reassigned Amy Clark who has been working as a speech pathologist in partnership with the Stew-Stras school district.

The Neoga board also hired Lindsey Stewart as a paraprofessional, and accepted three resignations; Marie Brummer as a junior/senior high school Spanish teacher, Jordan Bear as junior high track coach, and Bob Lockart as boys varsity basketball coach.

Lockart is retiring after more than 30 years of coaching boys high school basketball, with stops in Decatur, Mattoon, Effingham and Sullivan, in addition to Neoga.

The Board also appointed Sean Finney as the school board representative on the Cumberland County Development Corporation. Also approved were intergovernmental agreements with the Stew-Stras school district to share a speech teacher and a school nurse.
