City Police Department Promotions

Effingham Chief of Police Jeffrey Fuesting has announced the promotion of Troy Bloemker from the rank of Sergeant to the rank of Lieutenant, and the promotion of Tom Webb from the rank of Patrolman to the rank of Sergeant.

Bloemker is a 22-year police veteran. He has previously served as a Patrol Officer and Patrol Squad Supervisor. He serves as the department's Firearms Range Master and Department Armor.

Lieutenant Bloemker will assume the responsibility as one of two Bureau Commanders in the Bureau of Patrol. 

Sergeant Webb is a 10-year police veteran. He has previously served as a Patrol Officer. Sergeant Webb is a graduate of Southern Illinois University.

Chief Fuesting said of those promoted, "I'm proud of Lieutenant Bloemker's work ethic and I look forward to seeing his Patrol Squads grow under his leadership. Sergeant Webb is assuming responsibilities of a very important position in the Department and I look forward to seeing him develop into his new role as a supervisor."

Lieutenant Bloemker and Sergeant Webb will begin their new duties on February 25.
