Unit 40 Board Approves Expulsion, Acts on Personnel Items

The Effingham Unit 40 Board of Education Thursday acted on several personnel matters, as well as a student expulsion.

A student was expelled from February 15 through the end of the 2018-19 school year. The student was referred to an alternative educational setting.

In personnel matters, Kelly Langford and Shari Long were hired as nurse paraprofessionals, Langford at South Side and Long at the Early Learning Center. Effingham High School teacher Ron Reed's retirement was accepted as of the end of the 2020-2021 school year. 

Janice Thomas was granted a leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act, and Julie Cornell's resignation was accepted as a cafeteria monitor at Effingham Junior High School.
