A Ste. Marie man has been placed on four years' probation and given jail time for aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

68-year-old Eugene C. Ochs pleaded guilty last August. Ochs was arrested for the offense in December 2016.

Ochs will have to serve 180 days in Jasper County Jail, was fined $15,000 and must pay various court-ordered fees. Judge Amanda Ade-Harlow also directed Ochs cannot consume alcohol or other drugs.

Ochs will also be a registered sex offender for the rest of his life.
