A crash early Sunday morning near Farina resulted in injuries to three people.

The crash happened at 3:38am on I-57, two miles north of Farina.

State police report a SUV driven by 42-year-old Sandra Soto of Memphis, Tennessee, passed an IDOT salt truck. While returning to the driving lane, Soto lost control of the vehicle, which slid off the road to the right, overturned and ended up on the driver's side.

Soto was injured along with two passengers, 30-year-old Cristhian Antonio Ruiz Gordillo and 30-year-old Brenda Jazmin Garcia Martinez, both of Memphis. All three were taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment.

Soto was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash and no valid insurance.
