The trial of former area amateur basketball coach Barry Wolfe is scheduled to begin June 19.

Wolfe faces 55 counts of either aggravated criminal sexual abuse or criminal sexual assault. The counts stem from alleged actions that occurred while Wolfe was an AAU basketball coach in the area in recent years. There are two alleged victims in the case.

Wolfe is being held in Coles County Jail under $2 million bond.

Wolfe's trial date was set during a hearing in Charleston Monday. A status hearing in the case was set for April 19.

The charges allege improper actions against two girls between the ages of 13 and 17. The 53-year-old Wolfe was arrested on October 26.
