Two Crashes w/Injuries in Effingham Thursday

Two crashes involving injuries occurred in Effingham Thursday evening.

City police report one crash happened just before 6pm at Temple and 3rd.  A vehicle driven by 66-year-old Caroline Gibson of Effingham rear-ended a vehicle driven by 58-year-old Jon Sills of Effingham.  A passenger in Sills' vehicle, 14-year-old Ashley Sills of Effingham, was injured but refused treatment.  No tickets were issued.

The other crash occurred shortly before 8pm at Fayette and 3rd.  Police say an unknown vehicle struck a vehicle by 21-year-old Heather Colclasure of Effingham, causing Colclasure's vehicle to hit the curb, bounce back into the unknown vehicle, and then get pushed into a traffic signal post.  Colclasure was injured and was taken by private vehicle for treatment at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.  No tickets have been issued.
