A pedestrian was run over after grabbing hold of a vehicle Thursday evening in Fayette County.

State police say 43-year-old Joshua Wilson of Pana grabbed hold of a partially open driver's side window of a moving vehicle driven by 38-year-old Bruce Snow of Farina. Wilson fell off the side of the moving vehicle and was run over.

Wilson was taken by ambulance to Fayette County Hospital in Vandalia where he was pronounced dead.

State police have not completed their investigation into the incident, so it hasn't been determined whether any charges will be filed.

The incident occurred at 5:41pm at an intersection in Loogootee. State police say Wilson was from Pana, but other reports listed him as a Cowden resident.
