Teutopolis village board members Wednesday approved an agreement that will help pay for road work on the east side of the village.

The work is to rehabilitate a township road by Farmweld. An economic development grant through the Illinois Department of Transportation will help pay for the work along with funding from the village and from Farmweld.

The Board approved two subdivision plats. One is for the William Zerrusen Family Holdings Subdivision. A house is being developed on a portion of the property along Water Street, just west of Teutopolis Junior High School. The other plat is for Zerrusen Subdivision, involving land owned by Bob Zerrusen being developed along West Main Street near Dollar General.

The Board also made a payment for work being done to the site of Prairie View Subdivision, the new residential development on the southeast side of the village. The payment to Lapington Excavation totaled just under $105,000, while another $8,376 payment was made on engineering work on the project.

The Board was scheduled to approve an update of the Village's nuisance ordinance, but the matter was tabled until next month.
