Probation and Jail Time for Mattoon Man for Burglary

A Mattoon man has been placed on probation and given jail time for burglary in Effingham.

32-year-old Dory Gordon was arrested in September by Effingham city detectives. City Police Chief Jeff Fuesting said at the time Gordon was arrested in connection with four burglaries that occurred at Effingham Country Club from June though the time of the arrest. The burglaries occurred in storage sheds where golfers stow their carts and golf equipment. Various items were taken in the thefts.

Gordon was placed on two years' probation and was sentenced to 190 days in jail. He has already served 95 days awaiting disposition of his case. Gordon must also make restitution.
